Water is essential and pure clean water is sought after more than ever these days.
Chlorine is used in our tap water to bring clean water into our homes, but consuming chlorine and other chemicals such as chloramines that are used to purify our water is far from healthy. As a result, the bottled water industry has boomed. We consumers choose bottled water over tap water however, several reports show that water bottled in plastic is not a healthy alternative. It is too easy for the chemicals and BPA in the plastic to leach into the water. Glass is a far better bottling process for spring water, however glass bottling increases the overall cost. Another factor to consider is the length of time the water has been stored in the bottle. Personally, I do not drink water that was bottled over 21 days. Most bottled waters show the date the water was bottled and I was surprised to learn that some water has been bottled as much as a year earlier. Drinking water is not the only way chlorine gets into our bodies. Each time we wash our hands or shower in unfiltered water, chlorine and chemicals are absorbed through our skin. Just as it is important to drink filtered water, I believe a good shower filter to remove the chlorine in tap water and prevent chlorine from entering your body is just as essential too. Stage 1: Ceramic Pre-Filter
Constructed from highly compressed and fired diatomaceous earth with a pore size of 0.3 of a micron, this pre-filter removes rust, sediments, bacteria, germs and parasites.
Stage 2: Granular Activated Coconut Carbon
Highly porous coconut carbon charcoal offers an astounding 65 acres of purifying surface area. It filters chlorine, herbicides, pesticides, pharmaceuticals, industrial chemicals, trihalomethanes (THMs), heavy metals, organic chemicals, odour, taste, colour and particulates. This stage also contains a KDF filter medium that inhibits the growth of bacteria in the filter and neutralizes heavy metals. Magnesium granules improve the Oxidation Reduction Potential (ORP).
Stage 3: Volcanic Mineral Zeolite
This stage inhibits bacteria and neutralizes heavy metals including lead, nickel, cadmium and mercury through an ion exchange process. It filters detergents, ammonium, certain radioactive ions, agricultural chemicals and other toxins.
